Vatileaks eh, the long reach of Jules Assange at work here.

Surely as pope he can simply order any dissenters burned?

I would speculate that it is because Catholicism is still the majority religion in the Southern Cone?

@3 But is it? In my experience the growth of evangelical Christian churches throughout Latin America is outstripping the authority of Rome and the Church itself is to blame due to its failure to “march with the times” - why not allow priests to marry, for example?

After all the Church of Rome in the US, Australia and the UK is admitting married former Anglican priests into its priesthood and they are taking a full and welcome part in the ecclesiastical activities of the faith.

Another problem for Rome in Latin America is Opus Dei - a clique within the Church which has its own rules and excludes many ordinary Catholics.

Much more of this criticising the RCC and they might excommunicate you!

I suggest you take orders and start fighting them from the inside. They need dragging, kicking and screaming, into the 19th century.

From your remarks you clearly live in the 19th century!
