A landmark summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) has opened in the Iranian capital Tehran with the participation of the heads of nine member states. Presidents of Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Iraq, Bolivia, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Turkmenistan as well as the Algerian prime minister are the key participants. Read full article

    ChrisR, These countries think that if only they can corner the market and limit competition then they can pump their way to developed country status.

    Netherlands and Norway are there to see what their competitors are up to. Australia which has massive reserves and production capability didn't even bother because we know that you can't use the windfall from oil or gas to buy development.

    Thank God our resources have not cursed us as they have Russia, Venezuela and most Middle Eastern countries.
