France’s Total SA announced it is preparing to begin drilling one of its most important offshore exploration wells in the Americas this year as it hunts for a giant oil field in Uruguayan waters. A discovery could extend an exploration boom in a country that currently imports all of its oil and gas needs. Read full article

    On the other hand it could be a “white elephant ” but let's hope not. They could sell cheap oil to Argentina or Argentina could buy FALKLANDS OIL. Comon Rocky baby!

    Given the complete mismanagement of every government project by the 'children' who 'rule' us I am not hopeful that this will be a success but remain to be proven wrong.

    You only have to look at the complete fiasco the new 'gasification' plant is in to understand the problems facing Total on land, nevermind drilling anything.
