    @1.

    Lula will have died in prison by 2018.

    All the PT rats will be turning on each other and Dilma, to save their own skin.

    Unfortunately, the ONLY Objective of ALL the candidates &/or their Teams; is to Terminate the Investigations at all cost and let the corruption & money laundering to go on as usual! :o))

    In the present circumstances of the political + economic crisis; Brazil has two options only!
    #1: EITHER entrust the leadership into the hands of a leader who is the least corrupt
    #2: OR legalize corruption + money-laundering.

    As I understand the Brazilian Constitution only the Supreme Court can order a new election.

    @10 Hippy
    Unfortunately, once again, you have understood it all 'wrong'. The most likely manner in which new elections would be held , is if the TSE (Supreme Electoral Court) declares the 2014 election invalid, based on proof that both the fat cow and her vice-president had their campaigns funded with money diverted from Petrobras. Another likely cause for new elections could be the fat cow being impeached, and soon after that, her vice-president.....in this case, the next in line would be Cunha, but it is unlikely he would ever take over....next in line is the head of the Senate, Calheiros, but he too would very likely be blocked (as both are under investigation by the Federal Police), leaving new elections as the only option - as foreseen in the Constitution. Then again, the fat cow could resign, her vice-president (Temer) takes over, and for the “good of Brazil”, Congress decides to ignore certain rules...it's been done before and could well happen again. So, in any but the last of the above scenarios, the Supreme Court (STF) would not interfere in the process, unless opposing forces in Congress asked it to make a ruling based on the Constitution. But on principle, the whole process is exclusive to Congress, and they decide, not the STF.
