British Prime Minister Theresa May spoke with President Juan Manuel Santos to congratulate him about the historic peace deal with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). President Santos thanked the UK for its central role in helping reach the agreement. Read full article

This is great news.

I lived in Colombia for several years and they still celebrate the British (and Irish) support given to Simón Bolívar and his troops when he was leading Gran Colombia to victory over the Spanish in the early 19th Century.

We must now hope that Colombia will join Canada and deny support to Argentina over their dispute about the Falkland Islands.
