The founder of whistle blowing website WikiLeaks has said that even a teenager would have had the technical skills needed to break into the personal email inbox of John Podesta, a close aide to Hillary Clinton who was recently targeted by hackers with suspected links to Russia. Read full article

This Assange/Trump love in is very strange. I can only assume Assange believes he'll receive assurances about his liberty from Trump.

All the assurances will never protect him from the inner workings of the agencies he exposed. He'll be a red dot poster child for some time to come, upon walking out that door in London that is.

Never mind, Obama, HRC and the democraPs will continue to plug the version that Russia was responsible for the hacking, and that Putin personally supervised it...even after Jan 20th..

DemocraPs, Repupukecans.......all canny names all too often used but the intellectually gifted.....Most Americans who are opposed to Trump are not looking for a recount, his presidency is long accepted that an egomaniacal , idiot will be a figurehead for the USA with Pence's hand up his ass........Pences new sock puppet. From my background and POV.....I trust DIA, NSA, NSC,NRO and DNI etc, etc....over ....Assange. But hey.....who am I, I didn't have a multi season TV show playing a a far from realitysuper hero.......or posting under a fake super hero meme. Believe the sex offender.

    And onto relevant news:

“I'm disappointed that the first action out of a new Republican Congress that has the majority in the Senate, majority in the House and the White House that their first action will be a budget that never balances and adds 9.7 trillion dollars to the deficit,” Rand Paul told CNN Wednesday. “I just can't vote for a budget that never balances and adds so much new debt.”

January 4th and the fractures widen in the GOP. But, I can't wait for McCain to vote for Tillerson because I am looking forward oh so much to seeing those “pigs fly”. I love my bacon!

Should be interesting what Trump tweets after his briefing with the head of the CIA tomorrow...

“Chronic” will have pithy comments about it, I'm sure.

    Right?

So the debt hawks are adding trillions in their first week.

Fear and loathing in DC......Obamacare will probably not be repealed but bastardized and renamed Trumpcare.......even then, many in the GOP fear “touching” it at all.

The “wall” (their word), looks like I will be paying for it, not Pedro and family.

Trumps few solid picks as in Gen. Mattis, is already infighting with the Trumpee's. Never ask a general like him to run the military and fill military leadership roles and NOT consult one of the strongest military leaders since Schwartzkopf....WTF!!!

Meanwhile, back over in the real battle, the frontlines in twitland where tweets twirl with a truculent and terrorizing frenzy from Trump and his army of Trumpeters.......Vincete Fox makes a bold move, poking a flaking maneuver on DT's fragile ego:

”Donald, are you legitimate? Over 3 million (2.9 million is the actual figure) more voted for HRC?”

DT's head just may explode by January 20.

Now that we see his picks.......any odds when the first scandal arrives? With the amount of backtracking and outright bold faced lies, I really think that he believes anything that he says is not recorded somewhere online and cannot be crossed referenced.

He's a bigger idiot than the idiots who voted for him.

    @ CP

He is a sociopath and therefore believes everything that comes out of his own mouth. He said it so it must be true - in his own mind. Of course, it changes to suit his purpose. He has no shame about contradicting himself because sociopaths have no conscience.

The man is a monster but as a conman can fool the stupid. The circumstances were right for a conman to thrive and this is where I have to disagree with you. He isn't as big an idiot as the people that support him. He is very clever; they are very stupid. Have you ever had a conversation with a Trump supporter and thought that they sound like a rational, intelligent person?

I do know Trump supporters. Unfortunately, go to any VA center and you will see them, I embarrassingly must say......albeit, mostly EM's and not O grade.....but the commissioned ranks are there as well.
I disagree about his cleverness. Of those who misguidedly voted for him and pushed him over the limit, they are already seeing the light. His hardcore base will always be stupid. Who's that redneck comedian....Ron White........“you can't fix stupid”

I liked Reagan as a motivational leader and he was great for the military because we were an aimless and demoralized group after the Carter years, but, he had the highest corruption level and convicted staff of any president.........Trump just might beat that record.

And, as an aside....WTF MP!!!! How about making the typing box a little bigger. I have a 24 inch scree and a tiny box on this website with a few lines for typing. It would be nice to see wtf I am typing.

    @CP

Not to confuse street smarts with intelligence. He is a smart conman - look how many people he conned. Even if you allow for the fact that he targeted the angry old white men and the closet bigots, he managed to pull in the terminally stupid too. He was also fortunate to be running against a pretty unlikable candidate and there are still people in the US who wouldn't vote for a woman no matter what. It was a perfect storm.

This was a classic case of people believing what they wanted to believe verses the truth. Trump, the spoilt son who grew up never wanting for anything….except…..approval from his father. He never got it and craves status, which it why he is always telling us how great he is. He also has that whole Madonna/whore thing going on about women. I can only conclude there are a lot of old white men out there that identify with him and don't have the intelligence to see through his lies.

What is a comfort is that he didn't get the majority of votes and if any other Democrat had been running he wouldn't be President-elect.

Have you tried going to 'view' at the top of the screen and zooming in?

Basically, Assange is correct. A 14 year old could have broken into the DNC systems. That doesn't mean that the break in was done by a 14 year old though.
