A van hit pedestrians on Fonthill Road near Finsbury Park station outside a mosque in London late Sunday, killing one person and injuring another 10 people in what authorities consider to be a terrorist act. All 10 injured - two of whom are in critical condition - were from the Muslim community, authorites said. British Prime Minister Theresa May called the attack a “terrible incident.” Read full article

For some reason the old LBC call sign ( “Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner...” ) has been ringing in my head of late. The poor city has really been copping it lately. It's sad...

So - regarding this 'incident', I've wondered for years whether something like this would happen. The question I don't really want answered is... 'what happens next'?

Unfortuneately I am afraid this would happen, seems like tit for tat, I think mainly the trouble is that ghettos are formed which is no good for them or us.You only have to go to Southall in Middlesex and virtually every citizen is of Asian descent.

So a vigilante act against Muslims, outside of the law... and then the perpetrator was almost killed via mob justice? A vigilante killing innocents almost killed by a mob.

Oh and yes, the protests because of the fire continue to grow. And 10 different acts of hate against Muslims, Eastern Europeans, and Jews were reported in the weekend alone.

And meanwhile the government situation is a total clusterferk.

It's safe to say the UK is descending into pre-civilization anarchy. The French, Germans, or Romans (Italians), should perhaps invade and bring some civilization and rule of law again from the continent.

What next is to rein in some of the vitriol in the press and social media. It suits the media to have division and they have played the game to the point of stirring up the extremists.

It isn't just happening in the U.K (TTT's wet dream) but across Europe and the U.S.. Nasty politics from the top - where an example of behaviour should be set - has unleashed a throughly unpleasant side of some people. Commentators stir up shit without thought of the consequences. My solution would be to prosecute a few in the media and on social media for stirring up violence and see if that gives people pause for thought before inciting crimes that cause further division. We already have the laws.

There will always be terrorists but all terrorists fail eventually. Whatever it is they are against get stronger and united against them.

And will all white van drivers be expected to condemn the action of one of their number? I await the Daily Fail front page with no great hope....

    As Winnston Churchil once said:

”The Italians civilized us (Rome), the French gentrified us (Normans), the Germans industrialized us (Luther), and the Spanish militarized us (Armada).

It may be time the British Isles could use another invasion to bring it back to the fold of proper nations.

Come on then, what are you waiting for?

    @EB
Do you really think the press is a significant contributor? It seems to me inevitable that if terrorists claim they are acting in the name of a religion then some people will start blaming that religion, and there enough idiots on all sides to lead to this happening.

    Tobi...
I think in the last couple of hundred years the Spanish, the French and the Germans did try beating the British...
It didn't work out well for them...
    ...just saying...

The question is why is this piece appearing in Mercopenguin, a propaganda organ supposedly devoted to America, South America and the “South Atlantic”?

The shame is that Corbyn is only shocked at this incident and sheds tears(crocodile ones at that) He was not shocked at the Manchester and London Bridge attacks or indeed the Grenfell fire or shed a single tear for any of those victims. He was more concerned about the police firing 50 rounds to take down 3 terrorists.

And taking the property of anyone he considers rich. This alarming idea to tear up centuries of property ownership laws for a few moments applause led to an excellent joke regarding the current heatwave:

Corbyn's advice on beating the heatwave is to sleep in the fridge with the door open. If you don't have a fridge just take your neighbours.

    @Capt Rockhopper
Corbyn on Manchester attack: “Its absolutely shocking news, its the most appalling act of violence that's taken the lives of young people who were at a music event to enjoy themselves. People must be allowed to enjoy themselves at a music event.

”This is an appalling act of violence against people and it must be totally and unreservedly and completely condemned.“

Corbyn on London Bridge attack: ”We are all shocked and horrified by the brutal attacks in London.“

Corbyn after tower block fire: ”totally shocked by it, it's the worst nightmare anyone can think of, a fire in a towerblock”

I don't know if he shed any tears for the other victims, but this attack is in his own constituency so it wouldn't be surprising if he was more affected.

womble diverts us with the following stupid question: “And will all white van drivers be expected to condemn the action of one of their number?”

Of course - provided he did it BECAUSE he is a van driver.

Of course not, that would be silly. He did it because he blames Muslims in general for terrorism, so should we expect everyone who has done that to condemn his actions?

Lots of people blame muslims in general for terrorism.

    Do they kill them?

Only those muslims who hate Westeners, and those Westeners who hate muslims, kill Westerners resp. muslims.

“Lots of people blame muslims in general for terrorism.”

And have they condemned this man's actions? I've seen some posts on social media cheering him on.

Apparently he followed members of the far right party Britain First on twitter, perhaps they were responsible for 'radicalising' him?
