This is what happens when you don't invest in your military and enable sufficient training and maintenance activities to be undertaken. However all navies are subject to human error and maintenance failures and incidents do occur no matter how good they are. They are always high profile and embarrassing. The skipper will no doubt face a Board of Inquiry.

When weldimg you take care to remove ALL combustable material away from the effected area, common sense really as steel melts but does not set on fire.

Embarrassing and these things happen, but no report on whether the jetty was damaged. Did La Argentina damage a small piece of Argentina?

The ship demonstrated classic argentine self-destructive tendencies. In fact that class of ship is going to be renamed from “destructor” to “autodestructor.”

Although it's only through the application of the finest Argentinamaths (on the INDEC scale) that a MEKO 360 qualifies as a destroyer in the first place.
I believe that the Nigerians refer to theirs as a frigate.

The instructions must be in English and the pilot did not understand that “ reverse both ” means to go backwards, easy mistake really.
