    “...and excellent pasture conditions”.

Read: ”And increased reliance on feedlot conditions.“

    The rest of the story:

[2015] ”In the 1930s, Argentina was the world’s top exporter of beef. It lost that crown in the 1950s, but until 10 years ago it still ranked third. Today it has fallen to 13th, largely as a result of government meddling in the industry. In 2006, Argentina tripled export tariffs on beef to 15 percent, and in a separate move that same year suspended all beef exports for about six months.Unsurprisingly, thousands of cattle producers have quit over the past decade, cutting down herds and shuttering slaughterhouses big and small.Argentina’s shrunken beef industry speaks to a wider malaise in a country that has for decades squandered much of its natural advantages through shortsighted policies. ...“

    Buenos Aires Herald:

”Before Macri arrived, the governments of former presidents Nestor Carlos Kirchner and later, his wife, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner discouraged beef exports with rules intended to keep domestic supplies ample and prices low. Raising cattle was more costly than using the land to grow soybeans, so many switched. Argentina’s beef exports, which surpassed all but Brazil and Australia in 2005, tumbled 69 percent over the next decade and ranked 11th in the world last year, according to US Department of Agriculture data. The whole point of the Narcokleptocracy's policy, and of course their factotum Kamerad/Komrade Rique the SJW (Socialist Justicialist Wrecker's) was to drive anyone who owned property, especially medium and small sized farmers into bankruptcy. That's why they sent La Campora thugs out to slash silobolsas to destroy the crops of “hoarders.” All in the name of destroying the hated Oligarchy, of course. Looks like they succeeded!
