In a tweet, WHO director-general Tedros Ghebreyesus said: “I'm listening. I hear your concerns. Rethinking the approach in light of WHO values. I will issue a statement as soon as possible.” Mugabe, 93, the world's oldest head of state, has long been criticized at home for going overseas for medical treatment as Zimbabwe's once-prosperous economy falls apart.     Of all the ridiculous things done by UN agencies (and there have been quite a few) this has got to be at the top of the list. You can only assume that either there were a number of back-handers involved or the WHO management structure lives on Mars.

    And he is not Goodwill Ambassador. The Head of the WHO should stand down because it was blatantly a biased appointment in the first place.
