The Italian and English translations of the “Our Father” can give believers the wrong impression that God can and does lead people into temptation, Pope Francis said. The Italian bishops' television channel, TV2000, has been broadcasting a series of conversations between the pope and a Catholic prison chaplain looking at the Lord's Prayer line by line. Doesn't “ Lead us not”...mean “do not lead us”...?
    I always thought so...
Also surely God created temptation in the Garden of Eden by creating the Devil to tempt...was there any other reason to create the Devil other than to lead Adam into temptation...?
Adam was pre-destined to commit the original sin and be cast out leading to the progression of Man...
    Or so I always thought...

What's the point of creating humans if you're not going to get some entertainment out of them? No one wants to watch a movie about two people living happily in paradise for ever.

I'm still shocked that Harold not be thy name after all.

Just a bit more of the politically correct bs....and plenty of people who love to look for 'hair on eggs', to lap it up...

You mean our father Wishart in heaven, Harold be thy name.

Christmas is almost upon us so I await the first rendition of “A wean in a manger”

I remember being at middle school (roughly aged 10) and we were all asked to write out the Lord's Prayer from memory. One student wrote “Harold be thy name” so the name stuck.

As for “lead us not into temptation”......I assume it should be “lead us away from temptation”

....even better just bin it as some mindless gobbledegook from before the age of enlightenment.

I'm not saying the pope is politically correct...what I'm saying is that all the fuss over such an unimportant matter is a load of PC bs, because there will always be someone looking for hair on eggs....(good link !).
