Yes we need more ships. But what is lurking beneath the waves?

Yes agree Brit. A silly headline- non deployed overseas at the moment- simply because none needed! Smaller ones are overseas - 2 down this way for a start!
France had same shortage of destroyers and frigates when they brought their current carrier in- no money after a big ship like that to spend on the smaller new ones needed- French Navy now has more smaller ones. Give it 5 yrs or so and Royal Navy also will have more new frigates etc- same reason.

raising concerns over Britain’s ability to project power internationally.

Why do we need to “project power internationally”. I thought that our armed forces main duty was to protect th British Isles and its people.

Hey, Islander1, how stupidly silly to reveal bird counts! Whose side are you on? Best your bird counting is done in silence and be grateful your continued defence is being assured.

Good, flog those carriers, total waste of money. We will need more fishery protection vessels soon. A few more Frigates to protect our coastline wouldnt go amiss.

The question is why is this piece appearing in Mercopenguin, a British government propaganda organ supposedly devoted to America, South America and the “South Atlantic”?
