    Ex Royal Marines and Falklands veterans announce dates for historic kayak adventure around the Islands

    Before embarking on this challenge both Steve and Mick were novice kayakers so have had to learn how to kayak effectively as well as train in skills

    After months of serious preparation we can now announce that the dates for the Cockleshell Endeavour’s Falkland Islands kayak have been set. On 12th March two former Royal Marines and Falkland’s veterans, Mick Dawson, 50, and Steve Grenham, 51, will leave the UK to embark on a historic adventure which will see them kayak around part of the Falkland Islands, visiting key military sites en route to mark 35 years since the conflict.

    Mrs May took up her position, which she is permitted to occupy as a member of the Privy Council, as peers began debating the EU Notification of Withdrawal Bill.

    Theresa May has taken the highly unusual step of sitting in the House of Lords to hear peers being told by the UK Government not to “frustrate” Brexit. The Prime Minister sat on the steps in front of the Royal Throne as Lords leader Baroness Evans of Bowes Park told peers to respect the decision of the British people in last year’s referendum and the “primacy” of the elected House of Commons.

    Rosario and Liverpool twinned in promoting human rights and inclusion

    Rosario mayor Monica Fein and Joe Anderson from Liverpool will sign the agreement which was worked out through cultural organizations

    The Argentine city of Rosario and Liverpool in England will sign on Wednesday a cooperation agreement to jointly work in human rights and inclusion issues, the first such accord between mayors of the two countries since the end of the 1982 conflict.

    Chilen Navy operating from Punta Arenas rescues Australian yacht skipper

    Solo skipper Shane Freeman abandoned the Mushka yacht which has been scuttled to prevent a hazard to navigation, after being rescued by a Chilean Navy sea

    The Chilean Navy rescued 61-year-old Australian skipper Shane Freeman after his yacht Mushka was knocked down and dismasted 300 nautical miles west of Chile. The Australian was on his way to the Sunday Times Golden Globe race’s start line in the UK in his Tradewind 35 class yacht when the incident happened on 18 February 2017.

    Petrobras exporting record volumes from sub-salt offshore oil fields

    Brazil’s sub-salt production rose to 1.26 million barrels per day (bpd) in December, equivalent to 46% of the country’s total output – up from 34% a year earlier.

    Rising output from Brazil’s sub-salt offshore oil fields is allowing Petrobras to export record volumes of oil and import less light crude for its refineries, a senior executive said. Cláudio Mastella, executive manager for refining and natural gas logistics, said the move is helping to reduce Petrobras’ operational and logistical costs because lighter oil is easier and cheaper to refine into products like gasoline and diesel.

    Argentina in April will lower 35% tariff on computers and laptops imports

    Computers are three times more expensive in Argentina than in the US, and 50% more expensive than in neighboring Chile, the ministry said in a statement.

    Argentina will get rid of a 35% tariff on imports of computers, laptops and tablets, the Production Ministry said on Monday, part of a larger effort to lower consumer prices and roll back protectionist policies.

    South Georgia gentoo penguins feed preferably on krill, shows 22 year BAS study
