Some 41 ships are expected to visit the Falkland Islands this coming cruise season which begins on Saturday with expedition vessel “Ushuaia”. Total calls in Stanley are estimated in 108 while some 170 in the Camp, but much will depend on the weather. Read full article

    What was Lafonia called before it was called Lafonia?

    French Bottle Island of course .................... oh no, hang on, take out 'Bottle'. ;-)

    MacBride's survey work was first published by Carrington-Bowles in 1770 with the southern part of East Falkland Island marked as' French Island'. Possible because of a bottle.

    And as for the highest point in the Falklands? That would seem to be Mount Usborne on East Falkland.
