Argentine authorities say that Buenos Aires will be an armored city when world leaders arrive for this week's G-20 summit. But security failures that marred a football championship and deeper unrest over an economic austerity program are raising concerns about the country's ability to ensure safety. Read full article

Before anyone starts criticizing the most certain future anticipated outrageous violence by Argentine idiot thugs, it's fair to point out that the mayhem and predictable chaos would probably happen in many other countries as well. Sadly Argentina is not the only country inhabited in mindless idiots.

Fully agree with the comments made by CHUCUREO. Hopefully the measures being taken by the Authorities will succeed in avoiding, to some degree a least, the chaos these lunatics will no doubt try to cause, always to the detriment of Argentina.

Enough bad publicity has been shown out there with the BOCA - RIVER situation, which still unresolved.

“About 22,000 police and security agents will guard U.S. President Donald Trump...eight U.S. aircraft...400 American military personnel...to provide additional security.”

Apparently, the U.S. doesn't place a lot of trust in president Macri and his star Security Minister Patricia Bullrich, who did not know anything better than suggest Buenos Aires residents to take holidays elsewhere during the summit.

Chicureo, a couple posts up, is hopeful demonstrations will happen and is already calling those people “idiot thugs” even before a single one of them takes it to the streets. Not to be outdone, Little J names those yet-to-be demonstrators “lunatics.”

Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch asked Argentina to investigate summit participant Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman's potential involvement in crimes against humanity in Yemen and in the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Chicureo and Little J's main concern, meanwhile, is demonstrators.

Like they say, everyone chooses their own priorities.

I humbly hope what Enrique Massot declares is that Argentines wholly will act in a civilized manner and won't require riot police to use tear gas and rubber bullets. This will certainly be welcomed by the large influx of international news reporters that will show the world the peaceful and dignified populace that the rest of the world has somehow misjudged the Argentine people.

Perhaps CNN, BBC, DW, AP, AFP... will find themselves bored and instead join together for a nice steak and Malbec instead of dodging rubber bullets, rocks and tear gas.

I think Reekie has comprehension problems when reading English.....does he perhaps go through a mental process as he replies, which involuntarily twists what was said ?

You mentioned “......the most certain future anticipated outrageous violence by Argentine idiot thugs...”, which rightly suggests, based on the similar past incidents, that those who might resort to “outrageous violence” in the streets, are “idiot thugs”'.. how else can they be classified ? perhaps 'law-abiding' citizens ?

He also manages to see what no one else does, and concludes you “hope” - ('Chicureo is hopeful') - that demonstrartions will happen...

As he says, “everyone chooses their own priorities”......he sure does, even if unimportant.

Apparently, Marxist Enrique, as ourselves are fluent in English as a second language, so I'm willing to give him some leeway on his lack of comprehension. The real problem of course is that he suffers from Marxist-Leninist dementia, which explains his obvious brain damage and distorted impaired reasoning.

Unfortunately, thugs like Enrique suffering from brain damage and distorted impaired reasoning thoroughly populate our continent which requires a substantial purchase of tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons, which seem to assist in the attitude adjustment of the deranged left.

It was disappointing that Argentine 'law-abiding' citizens screwed up the greatly anticipated football game in Buenos Aires and we can only HOPE that they'll behave more civilized for the G-20 meeting.

Marxist Enrique will probably have a nervous meltdown with the news that Brazil´s newly appointed foreign minister, “Ernesto Frago Araujo, who starts his new job in January under President Jair Bolsonaro, has stated that the climate change issue was invented by ”cultural Marxists“ to help push a globalist agenda that is anti-growth and anti-Christian...”

Here comes English professor Chicu, offering MP readers a piece of literature, complete with highly poetic descriptions such as “Marxist Enrique,” ”Marxist-Leninist dementia (he forgot to throw in Trotskyist, Stalinist, Castrista and Guevarist).

But look at this: ”thugs like Enrique (require) a substantial purchase of tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons, which seem to assist in the attitude adjustment of the deranged left.”

I would not have expected any less from a right wing, violent extremist.

IF “...I'm willing to give him some leeway on his lack of comprehension” was his only problem, then yes.
What I'm going to say now, about Reekie, is not to offend him, but - in a way - to try to provoke a positive reaction from him (but am sure it will have little or no effect on him) :

Reekie makes bold statements abt Argentina, Macri, CFK etc.....which I, to be honest, don't follow that closely, so I limit myself to what I DO know, which is Brazil's politics....or, Lula, Dilma, PT...
Countless times I have challenged Reekie to justify his opinions (on Brazil), but he systematically refuses to. I think it must be because from Canada, he sees the world through pink lenses, which block out the corruption and general mischief committed by his ideological heroes, namely Lula, CFK, Maduro, Castro...
At times I avoid commenting on certain issues because I know it is useless.

    JB,

“Countless times I have challenged Reekie to justify his opinions...”

    Me too.

    “...but he systematically refuses to.”

    Ditto.

“I think it must be because from Canada, he sees the world through pink lenses...”

I think it is because facts and data are his Kryptonite. ;-)

Quite an admirable feat; a rare occasion indeed - bringing some of the worlds biggest bullshitters all together in one place - although only for two days; to solve the Problems of the World:

I saw lots of protesters and lots of police, but no violence. Are you disappointed, Chicureo?
