    Navy could still liberate Falklands

    The Royal Navy could still today launch a similar expedition to liberate the Falkland Islands if invaded as it did in 1982. That is the view of Admiral of the Fleet, Sir Alan West, retired head of the Royal Navy and Commander of a frigate, HMS Ardent, bombed and sunk in the 1982 War on the day British forces landed at San Carlos.

    Desire Petroleum Announces Acquisition of Site Survey Data in the North Falkland Basin

    Desire Petroleum plc announces that on 3 June 2007, Wavefield InSeis ASA commenced a contract to acquire high resolution 2D shallow-seismic data, at a number of potential drilling sites, on its licences in the North Falkland Basin, using the seismic vessel “Bergen Surveyor”. This vessel has just finished work for Falklands Oil and Gas Limited on their licences to the south of the Falkland Islands.
