  FIH set to takeover Portsmouth Harbour Ferry

  The Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company PLC Board announced Wednesday that it recommends PHFC shareholders to accept the takeover offer from Falkland Islands Holdings PLC with any of two options, either Full Cash Alternative or the Part Cash Alternative.

  FOGL doubles oil acreage and seismic surveying

  Falkland Oil and Gas Limited (“FOGL”) announced Tuesday that it has been awarded an offshore production licence for an additional 50,000 sq km by the government of the Falkland Islands; the licence area is adjacent to its existing licences where FOGL is in a Joint Venture with Hardman Resources from Australia. A 2D seismic survey program extensive to the whole acreage is scheduled to begin this summer.

  Falkland Gold and Minerals share offer oversubscribed

  Last November 25, Falkland Gold and Minerals Limited ('FGML') announced an offer for subscription ('Offer') to raise up to £2,000,000 through the issue of up to 5,000,000 Ordinary Shares of 0.002p each at 40p per share ('Ordinary Shares'). This followed an institutional placing which raised £8 million.

  Three party Gibraltar talks confirmed

  Britain's Foreign Office confirmed that three-party talks to take forward the 27 October joint statement between the Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and Spanish Foreign Minister Sr Moratinos will take place at Mr. Straw's official residence at Chevening House in Kent on 8-9 December.

  The first stage of the work on the Elderly Care Ward, the replacement of the Isolation Unit, is well under way. The new Isolation Unit built, by Mach-Aire in Lancashire, is due to arrive on the 14th December.

  Ellen MacArthur Meets Up With HMS Iron Duke

  Lone Yachtswoman Ellen MacArthur had some unexpected company as she headed southwards in mid-Atlantic in her bid to make the fastest time for a single-handed round-the-world voyage. Just two degrees north of the Equator she met up with Royal Navy frigate HMS Iron Duke and Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker RFA Gold Rover.
