Argentina has applied to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), a step that, if completed, would place it for the first time since the 1982 Falklands War in a trade agreement that also includes the United Kingdom. Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno announced the decision during a tour of Europe and handed the formal letter of intent to New Zealand, the treaty's depositary.

Foreign fleets operating along the outer edge of Argentina's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) —the so-called Mile 201— extract up to four times the volume caught by the entire national fishing industry, according to a report by the Latin American Foundation for Fisheries Sustainability (FULASP) released on the International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing. The organization called the activity one of the main threats to the fishery resources of the South-West Atlantic.

Argentina's Senate on Thursday approved the appointment of María Verónica Michelli as a judge of Federal Oral Court No. 3 in La Plata, a nomination President Javier Milei had tried to block because she is the sister-in-law of journalist Hugo Alconada Mon, of the newspaper LA NACION. Argentina's economy minister, Luis Caputo, ruled out on Tuesday that Kirchnerism could win the 2027 presidential election and, in particular, that the governor of Buenos Aires province, Axel Kicillof, could reach the presidency. Speaking before the Argentine-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CAMBRAS), the minister also projected that the Central Bank (BCRA) would overshoot the reserve-buying target agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The Federal Criminal Cassation Chamber of Argentina on Thursday rejected the extraordinary appeals filed by former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, her children Máximo and Florencia, and businessman Lázaro Báez against the confiscation of 111 assets ordered as part of the Vialidad case. The decision, adopted by the court's Chamber IV, virtually closes the path to the country's highest tribunal and clears the execution of the asset-related measures associated with the conviction for fraudulent administration imposed on the former president in December 2022 and confirmed by the Supreme Court in June 2025.

Minutes of the Argentine Submarine Force Advisory Council signed by fourteen navy captains on 30 April 2017, seven months before the implosion of the ARA San Juan in the South Atlantic, have become central evidence in the ongoing oral trial before the Federal Oral Court of Santa Cruz, based in Río Gallegos. The document, cited by the Argentine outlet Infobae, details the technical issues outstanding and the operational restrictions affecting the submarine before its final mission, and constitutes one of the central elements of the debate over the eventual criminal responsibility of the four former senior naval commanders charged in the case.
