    Falkland Islands anniversary of Liberation Day on 14 June

    A thanksgiving service will be held in Christ Church Cathedral at 9.45 am.

    To mark the Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands from Argentine occupation in 1982, the following programme has been arranged for Thursday 14 June 2018 by the local elected government, Gilbert House.

    Falklands Liberation Anniversary: Thursday 14 June program

    At 11.00 am a ceremony will be held at the Liberation Monument in front of the Secretariat building.

    To mark the Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands from Argentine occupation in 1982, the following program has been arranged for Thursday 14 June 2018, in the capital Stanley, according to a release from Gilbert House, seat of the Falklands elected government.

    Falklands announces program to mark liberation anniversary from Argentine occupation

    At 11.00 am a ceremony will be held at the Liberation Monument, and after  prayers Governor Colin Roberts will lay a wreath.

    The Falkland Islands will be marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Islands from Argentine occupation with a vast program scheduled for Sunday 14, June, 2015, in the capital Stanley.<
    The program includes a religious service, a ceremony at Liberation Monument and later a reception hosted by Falkland Islands governor Colin Roberts. MLA Ian Hansen will be presented with the South Atlantic Medal on behalf of all Islanders.

    Falklands to mark liberation from Argentine occupation on Saturday 14 June

    Following a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral, there will be a ceremony and wreath laying at the Liberation Monument

    To mark the anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands from Argentine occupation in 1982, a program of activities has been arranged for Saturday 14 June 2014, beginning with a Thanksgiving Service to be held at Christ Church Cathedral commencing at 9.45 am, according to a release from Gilbert House.

    Falklands’ government plans a memorial bust of Baroness Thatcher

    Margaret Thatcher is revered as the Liberator of the Falklands

    The Falkland Islands Government is in the process of commissioning a sculptor to create a memorial bust of Baroness Thatcher. The project follows a public consultation held in the Falkland Islands as to how best to commemorate the late Margaret Thatcher. The high number of responses received demonstrates the high regard in which she is held in the Falkland Islands.
