    CONCACAF joint bid launched for 2026 World Cup

    Sunil Gulati revealed that the initial plan calls for the United States to host 60 of the 80 scheduled matches. Canada and Mexico would each host 10.

    The United States, Canada and Mexico are teaming up in a bid to host the 2026 World Cup. The official announcement came on Monday at a media event in New York, with the heads of all three federations signing a Memorandum of Understanding.

    FIFA postpones 2026 World Cup bidding process, announces Valcke

    Valcke said it was a “nonsense” to launch the process amid FIFA’s current crisis, and lashes out at the media: “why I am such a target”.

    FIFA has postponed the 2026 World Cup bidding process amid the growing corruption scandal engulfing world football’s governing body. Secretary general Jerome Valcke told a news conference in Samara, Russia that the bidding process had been suspended.
