    A Rose for Peace presented the Falklands by Argentine students

    The Rose for Peace made from shell casings metal with the engraved names of the three civilian ladies killed as a result of accidental fire from a British warship

    The large number of Argentine visitors to the Falkland Islands this week included pupils of the Don Bosco College in Ensenada. Having spent the first full day of their stay visiting the military cemeteries at Darwin and San Carlos where they paid tribute to the fallen of both sides in 1982, on Monday the group, whose visit was arranged in conjunction with the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, was given a presentation on the Falklands by the FIG Policy Department.

    UK will fund 21 projects from Argentine government agencies and civil society

    Ambassador Kent said some of the projects follow on from the lines of work outlined in the Joint Statement of September 2016.

    The British Embassy in Argentina has selected 21 project bids submitted by government agencies and civil society organizations which will award almost 10 million pesos worth of funding during the second half of 2017. The initiative follows on the spirit of the 2016 September Joint Statement.

    British ambassador in Buenos Aires, Mark Kent this week held a meeting with relatives of Argentine combatants who lost their lives during the Falklands conflict in 1982, according to the embassy twitter. The meeting was described as “historic”, and Ambassador Kent said that the “warm and most respectful dialogue”, addressed humanitarian issues and “how to honor the memory and dignity of the fallen in combat”.

    Falklands' military exercises trigger protests in Buenos Aires against Macri and UK embassy

    During the protest a group burned two Union Jack flags and harshly criticized president Macri's efforts to strengthen ties with PMr Theresa May's administration.

    Extreme left wing organizations protested on Thursday outside Britain's embassy in Buenos Aires against UK military exercises which are being carried out in the disputed Falkland Islands. The groups also slammed the Argentine government's pursuit of closer ties with the United Kingdom.
