    Argentina's Patagonia’s National University of San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB), based in Chubut province, officially introduced on Tuesday an academic scholarship program geared toward Falklands/Malvinas residents, and during a panel presided by Malvinas Affairs Secretary Daniel Filmus, Argentina's Under-Secretary of University Policies Laura Alonso and the university’s chief Alberto Ayape.

    Falkland Islands elected lawmakers believe that the election of MP Jeremy Corbyn as leader of Labor would be harmful for that party, but anyhow they are confident that as happened before, they can 'educate' detractors who argue that Britain and Argentina should negotiate over the Falklands.

    Father Benedettini  said “the picture was taken out of context during the general audience when many people give items to the Holy Father”.

    Shame and double confession for the Vatican's deputy spokesman father Ciro Benedettini: it has now clearly emerged that Pope Francis was well aware he was holding a poster calling for “Malvinas dialogue between the UK and Argentina”, and furthermore the Holy Father encouraged the man who setup the stage to continue strongly with the campaign.

    Falklands' air defenses bolstered with Saab-built Giraffe AMB radars

    The MoD confirmed in the first quarter of the year it was upgrading Falkland's air defenses including mandating the use of the Giraffe in the update.

    Britain has ordered additional Saab-built Giraffe AMB radars to bolster ground-based air defenses on the Falkland Islands against a possible future threat from Argentina, reports Defense News. The Swedish company announced on 24 August that it had received an order valued at 610 Swedish krona million ($74 million dollars) from the UK Ministry of Defense for the supply of new radars and the upgrade of existing systems.

    Falkland Oil & Gas Ltd told investors that drilling of the deep water Humpback exploration well in South Falkland basin has run into delays. They were described as ‘unforeseen equipment and operational issues’ and it has added just over a month to the schedule – to about 100 days from 65 planned days – so the well results are now expected during September.

    Falklands' retail price index down to 0.3% in first half on lower fuel and power costs

    The lower RPI is mainly as result in decreases in heating fuel, kerosene of (1.04%) and electricity by (0.30%).

    The Falklands' Retail Price Index for the quarter ending June 30, 2015 decreased by 0.8%, meaning that the annual Retail Price Index (RPI) as at the end of June was 0.3%, helped by lower prices of fuel and power.

    Falklands anticipate a busy cruise season with the return of Norwegian Line
