French entrepreneur and politician Serge Dassault has died at the age of 93, his family has said. Mr Dassault led the Dassault group after his father, Marcel's, death in 1986. The group has numerous firms in aeronautics and armaments and owns the French newspaper, Le Figaro.
Brazil on Wednesday lashed out at a demand by former European leaders for disgraced ex-president Lula da Silva to be allowed to take part in elections this year. A group of former EU left leaning leaders, including French ex-president Francois Holland and Spanish former prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, called Lula's imprisonment for corruption hurried and said he should be free to present himself before Brazilian voters.
Argentina has bought five modernized Super Etendard fighter jets from the French National Navy for 12.6 million Euros (US$ 15.1 million). The agreement of the operation between both countries is established as one of the forms of cooperation, says Official Gazette.
Western powers, Russia and China remain committed to the Iran nuclear deal - after the US announced it was withdrawing from the agreement.
