Brazilian oil and natural gas output rose 1.89% in May from April to 2.78 million barrels of oil and gas equivalent a day (boepd) as crude output from giant, new offshore fields increased, Brazil's oil agency ANP said on Thursday.

Shell announces major investment drive to boost falling production

Chief executive Peter Voser: 80% of the new investment would be focused on upstream operations

Royal Dutch Shell has said it will launch a major investment drive in an effort to boost falling production. The oil giant said it would spend 30bn dollars on new oil and gas projects this year, compared with 24bn in 2011.
