The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has congratulated the EU on the adoption of the new European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), a pre-authorization system which allows the EU to know who is entering the EU, from where and if they pose a risk to EU security.
President Mauricio Macri of Argentina was recognized by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) at its first World Leader for Travel & Tourism. The recognition was announced at the opening ceremony of the 2018 WTTC Global Summit which is taking place on 18 and 19 April in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Argentine President Cristina Fernández underlined the importance of tourism as a sector able to “generate decent work and wealth across the entire country” on receiving the UNWTO/World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Open Letter on Tourism.
