Criminal complaint filed against Mondino for Lammy deal

Lawyer Valeria Carreras has filed a criminal complaint against Foreign Minister Diana Mondino for alleged “breach of official duties” and “abuse of authority” after the understanding she signed with the United Kingdom to renew the monthly flight between Córdoba and Mount Pleasant, which had been suspended under former President Alberto Fernández when the Foradori-Duncan agreement was denounced.

EU insists cocoa imports must come from deforestation-free areas

The European Commission (EC) has turned a deaf ear to the Ivory Coast-based International Cocoa Organization (ICCO) to postpone for two years the implementation of regulations requiring that cocoa imported into Europe must not come from deforested plots.

Bolivia stops gas sales to Argentina, shifts toward Brazil

After terminating the supply to Argentina, Bolivia will up its gas pumping towards Brazil according to an agreement between YPFB and Petrobras. Buenos Aires announced it would no longer be needing Bolivian gas since Vaca Muerta, the second-largest reserve in the world and the fourth-largest oil reserve, guarantees the supply for its domestic market.

Greenhouse emissions surge in Brazilian Amazon due to fires

A study released by the Climate Observatory showed that the blazes from June to August this year emitted 31.5 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent into the atmosphere, which resulted in greenhouse gas emissions soaring 60% interannually, Agencia Brasil reported this weekend. The figure is close to the total emitted by Norway in one year (32.5 million tons), it was also explained.
