Former Falklands Chief Executive becomes a clergyman
A former Chief Executive of the Falkland Islands government is to become a clergyman in the Yorkshire Dales. Michael Blanch is to serve as curate at Askrigg united with Stallingbusk, according to press reports from North Yorkshire.
He is one of a number of new curates to be ordained at a service in Ripon Cathedral on Sunday, June 28.
They include Peter Matthews, who worked for the British Council in Botswana and Zambia, who will be curate at Catterick, chaplain at St Francis Xavier School, Richmond and a Pioneer Minister in Richmond Deanery.
Darryl Hall, a former business manager from Northallerton who trained at Cranmer Hall, will serve in the Knaresborough team, while Counsellor Marjorie Warner will serve her curacy at Masham united with Healey.
