London-based Tehran Times newspaper published a controversial editorial on the international conflict Argentina and Iran are currently immersed into over the AMIA bombing probe. The newspaper assured “the influence of Israel and the Jews on the internal affairs of Argentina increased greatly and the South American nation now seems like an occupied country.”

The Tehran Times dealt with several topics in Monday’s editorial, ranging from Buenos Aires City Mayor alleged involvement in the wiretapping case and up to former president Fernando de la Rúa's administration. Titling it “Truth about AMIA bombing coming to light,” the British publication affirmed “new documents are gradually coming to light about the incident.”

After qualifying the bombing as “a mystery,” the Tehran Times stated “the Argentine government only levelled false allegations against the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iran that it could never prove.” And it did not hesitate in going further with its stance: “In fact, the Argentine government devised and promulgated such falsehoods in order to deflect the attention of the families of the victims from the real story and to cover up the facts about the incident.”

The editorial then moved to the illegal wiretapping case, focusing on both Macri and suspect Jorge “Fino” Palacios figures. “The appointment of Palacios as the Buenos Aires City police chief drew a strong protest from the families of the victims and led to a dispute between those families and the mayor,” it explained to its readers.

The Tehran Times unveiled its viewpoint when it comes to conclusions: “So, why did someone, who used to serve as the intelligence chief of the Buenos Aires police at the time of the bombing, received military training in Israel, and was honoured by Israel several times for his services to the country, prevent a proper investigation of the case and even go so far as to mislead the investigation?”

The editorial continued criticizing the current situation and places Buenos Aires City Mayor in the spotlight: “Macri's remarks and the fact that Israel honoured Palacios on several occasions brings to mind another man accused of misleading the investigation into the AMIA bombing who is none other than Carlos Menem, who was the president of Argentina at the time.” And left more controversial statements for the end of the piece: “After the bombing, the influence of Israel and the Jews on the internal affairs of Argentina increased greatly and the South American nation now seems like an occupied country.”

To close its ideas, the Tehran Times quoted a former president Fernando de la Rúa speech after the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States, in which he said that when the United States identifies the real culprits of the 9/11 attacks, the perpetrators of the AMIA bombing will also be identified. The article described his sayings as “sarcasm.” And it concluded: ”Did de la Rúa knows something that he was not able to reveal?”.

What is your point , #2? Iranian insults are no matter to Argentina. What matters is to prevent another bombing by terrorists. Argentina became a target for them because there is a huge Jew community living here. By the way, how many jews live on the islands? How many African Americans?
Quite a cosmopolitan settlement you have there, don´t you?
