US withdraws Venezuela envoy's visa
Decision to revoke visa for Venezuela's ambassador to Washington follows rejection of US choice for Caracas.
The US has revoked the visa for Venezuela's ambassador to Washington in what it called a reciprocal action for Caracas turning down the US choice for its own representative in the Venezuelan capital.
Mark Toner, a US state department spokesman, confirmed on Wednesday that the visa of ambassador Bernardo Alvarez Herrera, who is reportedly not currently in the US, had been revoked.
Toner said: We said there would be consequences when the Venezuelan government rescinded agreement regarding our nominee, Larry Palmer.
We have taken appropriate, proportional and reciprocal action.
Speaking on state television on Tuesday, Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan preisdent, had dared the US to cut off diplomatic relations.
If the [US] government wants to expel our ambassador there, let them! If they cut off diplomatic relations, let them,” he said.
Chavez had announced in August that he would not accept Palmer's appointment to be the next US ambassador to Venezuela because of comments Palmer made during his confirmation hearing in the senate.
Palmer said that he believed Venezuela was allowing leftists FARC fighters to find safe haven in the country and that Venezuela's military was under Cuban influence and suffering from low morale.
Relations between Washington and Caracas have been rocky since Chavez came to power in 1999.
Both sides withdrew their ambassadors between September 2008 and June 2009 after a spat over US military bases in Colombia.
Despite their political differences, the US continues to buy around one million barrels of crude oil from Venezuela every day. (Agencies)

they know everything..they consume everything.
Are you that dumb or are you acting stupid. The point is (Though i do not agree with Herr Chavez socialist nonsense dreams), who cares about a bunch of bureaucrats, Chavez has the last laugh, because he still sell oil to the US who borrows money to buy oil.

In case you don't know Hugo Chavez ruined Venezuela, there is not enough space here to detail it so why don't you read this article.....

1. Venezuela’s deeply troubled economy.
2. Human rights under increasing threat.
3. Involvement and influence of Cuba in key sectors of the country.
4. Activities of Iran, Russia and the FARC narco-terrorists.
The last time checked Venezuela borrowed money from the Russians to buy Russian weapons. A nice pair of democratic countries that have a deep respect for human rights!

Have you ever compared Venezuela's public and external debt with that of the UK?
@fred
Skyhigh public and external debts; huge budget deficits; high unemployment; enormous current account deficit; dependency on money lent by Japan and Third World countries: whose economy does that remind you of? And please, answer sincerely, not with half-baked insults that betray a lack of arguments.
In the name of Third World cooperation, Venezuela has offered a lot of cheap oil to Cuba and African countries. But guess which other country has been offered such a deal - AND ACCEPTED IT?

Hope you'll accept the words of your Brit friends.
Do you think Citgo gave free oil to the USA out of the goodness of their hearts or for a political advantage? Would you turn down something of value if it is offered freely? Are they still doing it? I really don't know or care. Citgo is a big company and should have a community assistance program like many many USA companies do.
Watch and learn what happens when we get Obozo out of office and get a strong President back in power. Carter 2 is a weak idiot that is ruining our international standing and our economy. Since we do not overthrow our Presidents like you do in South America we will live with it for another 2 years until we can retire him. I hope he goes and runs the UN it is a perfect job for someone who so obviously hates the USA and everything we stand for.
Your views on Obama are overblown. Is that really what one learns in older age - to become so desperately partisan? I can only remind that it was not Obama who created the crisis the US has been in the last years. It was not him who increased the US debt manifold by spending more than the country could in the military budget. It was not him who created the housing bubble, and it wasn't even during his term that the bubble burst. So taking him out of office will not by itself solve your country's problems.
You have no real life experience
You are a Progressive
You are anti American
I think your posts are ridiculously naive and read like they are written by a freshman in a poli-sci class in college. In a few years you will understand how ridiculous and worthless your opinion are. You should probably save them for when you are older so you can see your growth.
Enjoy your new Marxist President I am sure you have a lot in common with her.

Fred i didn't know you are Argentinian?
Plus after living in the most foul Argentina, I am THE most patriotic American I know. I also live in one of the most liberal cities in the USA so a lot of my friends find me insufferable :)
One of the reasons I post here is because I see the dangers of the USA adapting economic and social policies like they have in Arg and is scares me to death. Luckily Obozo has woken up Conservative America so I think that time is finally over. Too bad it took 20 years, but we have time to correct the mistakes and we will. It will just take 1 more election cycle then a few years after than to get our house back in order.
I keep telling people the mood of the country is just like when Carter was president, a weak and ineffectual liberal with a bias towards the basic core USA beliefs, Obama is the same, once we got Reagan everything changed for the better. It will happen again, I don't know who the new Reagan is yet but one will come just in time. We seem to be very lucky with getting good effective leaders when we need them the most.
Venezuela is not as same as Petro-Arab Countries.
the some goods woud be imported even if exported to make hedging...
adding maybe money transfers and manipulations.
As such the purchase of Venezuelan oil by the USA is a strategic choice.
..could be possible !
