Americans, Brazilians and Spanish, the ‘coolest nationalities” in the world

The Americans have been voted the world's “coolest nationality” in an international poll, the Brazilians the coolest in Latin America and the Spanish in Europe, according to social networking site Badoo.com.

Lloyd Price, Badoo's Director of Marketing: ‘Obama is the coolest leader’

Badoo asked 30,000 people across 15 countries to name the coolest nationality and came up with those findings but also that Belgians, Pole, Turks, Canadians and Germans, in that order, are the least cool nationalities in the world.

“We hear a lot in the media about anti-Americanism,” says Lloyd Price, Badoo's Director of Marketing. “But we sometimes forget how many people across the world consider Americans seriously cool.”

Of course, not all Americans are cool far from it. Some like Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, Samuel L. Jackson, Johnny Depp and Quentin Tarantino are way cooler than others.

Americans, however, are the dudes who invented cool and who still embody it in many fields from music to movies and TV to technology.

“America,” says Price “boasts the world's coolest leader, Obama; the coolest rappers, Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg; and the coolest man in technology, Steve Jobs of Apple, the man who even made geeks cool”.

Brazilians are ranked the second coolest nationality in the Badoo poll and the coolest Latin Americans, ahead of Mexicans and Argentines. The Spanish, in third place, are the coolest Europeans.

The French are voted cooler than the British, and Canadians cooler than the Belgians. This may come as a relief for Canadians, who are sometimes viewed as chronically un-cool.

Or, as Michael Ignatieff, the Canadian politician once put it: “Paris, Texas stands as a metaphor for broken dreams; Paris, Saskatchewan just sounds ridiculous”.

The ten coolest nationalities: US; Brazilians; Spanish; Italians; French; British; Dutch; Mexicans; Argentines and Russians. The five least cool: Belgians; Poles; Turks; Canadians and Germans.

if uncool means, you geekly keep up the best economic balances and policies like germans, poles, turks with surplusses and being cool means the opposite, desastrous economic policies and balances with horrible householding, like the Spanish, US, Italy, Argentina... I ask myself why they did not include the “greeks” under the cool ones...

If the people of Mercopress were cooler, what they aren't, they would put it straight forward and much more correct here on their blog, that Americans isn't a nationality but just a nickname of their real nationality: USA citizen (that's in their passport next to the word nationality), what not even an average person in the United States understand since most do not hold a passport for many reasons. How the word American is created for the people in the United States is another discussion, for what you have to go back to the good old days when people in Europe where more focused on that area.

On the otherside I have to give credit to Mercopress that finally they have it correct though it's an opinion.

”The ten coolest nationalities: US (US citizen/USA citizen officially in their passport); Brazilians; Spanish; Italians; French; British; Dutch; Mexicans; Argentines and Russians. The five least cool: Belgians; Poles; Turks; Canadians and Germans.”

There are still people in this age with more information available that Brazilian, Argentian or Hispanic is a race. Isn't that sad specially when those people claim to have the best education in the world in their country? Think about it.
