But of course it will be everyone else that is the problem and its not Argentina's fault.

The USA, EU and Japan dont make up any significant portion of the global trading block, so what is there to worry about?

Now, if Botswana was going to the WTO THEN i'd be worried.

Anyway, Argentina can always complain to the UN Security Council that its a danger to world peace.

At some point the rest of the world will just stop buying from AR. CFK doesn't understand the concept of “trade”. HP printer ink, which used to cost about $20 now costs almost $50. Its ok to protect your industries if you actually have any...but they don't make anything here worthwhile.

With all the complaints filed against argentinst, certain;y the consultation stage which is typical two mnths have past. They must now be forming panels and in less than six months forward a report. Eitheway, the entire proicess even with appeals is 15 months as to when the complaintants can enact retalitory measures against argentina. I would think that sometime in the next 4-8 months.....argentina's exports will start decreasing. That coupled with the dropping soy prices, wheat fungus, next year looks like the “perfect storm” in the making, economically speaking. They are getting near the point that not even their south american sister countries want anything to do with them. But do not fear argentina.....you still have north krea, venezula, angola and iran (and syria next?) as economic trading partners.

Interesting, in the 90s when Argentina was an import sucking machine, the EU, US, UK, Mexico, China, Mercosur, no one complained.

It would almost seem like they didn' give a sh!t about Argentina's economic balance then. Would almost appear as they only cared about their own interests.

Nah, that's impossible. Only Argentina cares about itself.

    Muppets will blather.

Interesting to note that Argentina also has trade disputes running with the USA, EU, Japam and 7 other countries, is the World's top protectionist country, is regarded as a paria state by international money lenders and is fast becoming a banana republic. Well done CFK the Comedy Club of Argentina.

Maybe CFK is really a MI6 agent?? she's doing so brilliant job that one can't count out that possibility. Strong Argentina would always be a threat to Falklands and UK, but a weak and poor Argentina can only harm itself. Most people don't understand that you need lots of money to go war. Yet another international dispute for Argentina to add to an already very long list.

Already fighting on too many fronts as it is, Argentina can’t realistically expect to win on any front.

But CFK & Co still insist it’s the rest of the world that is wrong, and they that are correct. How long before she tries to stop the tide from coming in.

Mexico unfortunaltely, lives by and for the satisfaction and approval of it's Northern master. Just like Canada. They are the 51 st and 52 nd states. Mexicans have resigned themselves to be dependent on and to live by the USA. They will never be free or independent. They were coherced into accepting NAFTA by the small wealthy minority in Mexico, that are thee only ones that will benefit from the Maquiladoras that they have interests in.
NAFTA has has destroyed the Mexican small family owned farms, and converted the country for an exporter of corn to an importer, from the USA of course. Their population grows faster than jobs are produced, schools and universities cannot accomodate everyone. Everyday, the former farmers and others seeking a better life risk their lives to cross North over the Rio Grande.
Looking accross the Niagara River from New York into Ontario Canada you can still see many homes fly the Union Jack. As if saying, stick it.
Their whole purpose of existence is not to be American but their biggest trade partner is the USA.
Yet both wish us hell and eradication from the face of the map. Sad really.

No one said anything about slaves. I am telling the facts as I see them every day for years. I don't think there is much honesty between the countries. There are trade disputes and complaints all pof the time and remain unresolved. Many just quick patch work but unfairness continues everyday. We were told that NAFTA would create jobs and it hasn't. It took jobs away from our industries across the border where workers make 1/4 than Americans and we have not seen any of those jobs back.
Argentina does not owe Mexico or Ccanada any money so your statement is out the door.
So how do I sound like the blacks of years past.” ?

I thought I saw those news already because I dont see any actualization there from when it was announced months ago, They should let the trade deal die, it was sugested and supported by Nestor Kitchner and Kristina herself some years ago, but it is obvious it isnt being respected and isnt working anymore. As I said in an earlier article. The current agreement will be fixed with the new administration. There are changing dynamics by which the agreement needs to be renogotiated. It was discussed between the new Mexican President Elect and CFK last month. The current complaints have more to do with Calderon reaction to Certain external and internal political forces and he must be seen to be doing something before leaving office.

1.- Calderon is busy with the his transitional time actualizing Peña Nieto on things and on the labor reform. So the secretary on economy is in charge of this matter, since Zedillo there has been given a little more independence to this secretary as a way of keeping politics and especially change of president time, from affecting Mexico´s macro economics.

2.-Dont think Mexico only has this type of dealings with Argentina, it has one right now with the US too , in election time some US politicians, for electoral reasons, also search for a change in deals, and Mexico deals with that in the same way that is dealing with Argentina right now, and with China before them. Mexico has a lot of trade deals and is a difficult economic time so is even expected to be problems along the way.

2.- Argentina decided UNILATERALY to “change” the “dynamics” of this deal that the president herself and her husband asked of Mexico not the other way around, But this year, because they saw Mexico limiting part of imports for Brazil with another deal and because after 10 years of Mexico holding deficit on this deal now Argentina is the one holding deficit in Argentina wants to change it.

3.- Now, considering this deal is way more small than the one Mexico has with Brazil, that Argentina is demanding changing a deal that they themselves agreed on years ago, there isn´t much gain in insist on it IMO when there are others options, but that is just me.

4.- Peña Nieto was on a diplomatic tour for good political relations between Latam countries, we have yet to see how he will conduce economic dealings, but ppl around his team said economic policy wont change much while compared to Calderon, what is going to change are some estructural reforms inside the country.

    Well, finally we agree.

It is so very confusing right now, we just don't know which deals Argentina is going to break, or when they might feel it is to their advantage not to honour the same terms as the rest of the players.
The UN could sure use a rest. Without all the Argentine diversions and tattling, they might solve that elusive “World Peace” thingy, in another year or so.

Of course, Argentina might complain that it is unfair, their peace is not as peaceful as some others...

The theory in free societies is continuity of the society. It will be the new Presidents decision what to do with it. Most Presidents, in democracies see a different light once they get into the office. All of a sudden they have access to information they never had before and new opinions are often formed.

I thought that was the theory in dictatorships, in free societies the people get to elect a different government with totally different policies if they so choose - glorious discontinuity! Of course if government is on the right track they can always re-elect it, like, I hope, they will with Cristina =)

This Lawauit isn´t new at all, this are repeated news from months ago, I suppose because this site news needs to cover all about Argentina´s president, it even has the same photo. This could very well be the case of any publicity is good publicity . This is an economic matter not political, we dont tend to be petty like that. http://en.mercopress.com/2012/06/27/mexico-preparing-wto-case-against-argentina-over-suspension-of-auto-trade-accord

About elections: While I absolutely hate the results it doesn´t mean it wasn´t at least part of ppl choice EPN got 36% out of 100% Obrador got 30% and Josefina got 27%, all of them have at least 70% ppl that didn´t vote for them, it was a really divided election and that reflects well ppl feelings really, because none of them really talked hard or directly about matters, that is the truth. Ironically PRD and Obrador could have got a second run of votes if they didnt stop, along with the PRI obviously, that initiative on congress after 2006.

Now, how comes when Mexico has trade problems with Argentina WE are being petty and when Brazil has them is bussines as usual? at least given some reactions here which frankly leave a lot to be desired IMO. I know for a fact Argentines, Mexicans and Brazilians have good relations most of the time, even between goverments, and problems like these are an exception to norm.

Now If Calderon really whished to hurt Argentina´s president, dont you think it would have been far more easier using G20 presidency? All this conspirancy theories amuse me, here with Calderon secretely wanting to hurt Argentina, US paranoid Republicans with saying Mexico has hezbollah inside, a Canadian reporter even joked about Mexico and US planning to invade Canada, if it were for you, we would conspire with everyone 24/7 really ;) . I guess we MUST always be the bad ones in the fairly tale.
