UK (A) “Oh don't worry, you need a navy to have one of those”
Argentina (A) “Ah, put us down for one in 50 years”

The colonial governments were not always mindful of the rights or human rights of the territories they annexed. This applies to Britain just as much as Argentina.

Didn't the UN recently mention the Rgs's are continuing to harass and annex native lands!! the clues in the RECENT
    30,000 murdered recently
This is an ongoing persecution of native inhabitants by Argentina.

What happened? Did I touch a nerve? What the hell are you talking about?

I don't live in Argentina and whether they have a fleet commander or not, it's their business. Frankly, I don't believe that there is one single Argentine exists that believes that the US Navy is out to protect them. There is a mutual assistance agreement, known as the Rio pact, but that's cold war stuff.
I don't sponge off anyone. I was born in and live in the US, pay my taxes, served in the Navy. Been to Argentina and liked it. By the way, most Americans who take the trouble to investigate the Malvinas history, and most of my countrymen don't know or care much about history, wind up agreeing with Argentina.
    Don't like it? Too bad!

@11 don't think so sussie. Didn't mean the US fleet would protect Argentina, meant you sponging, sorry, living in the US being protected by the US Navy even though your a foriegner. Can't believe any educated Americans would fall for the Rgenweener view of history of the Falklands for one second, especially since they had a say in it between 1831 and 33 and nearly went to war with argentina over it, USS Lexington ring any bells? Unless maybe it's because as you say they know nothing about it and believe your one sided views because they have heard no one elses. The British flag still flys over the FALKLANDS, don't like it? Too bad!
