The basket of crude oil used as a benchmark indicator by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries dropped to $44.53, the OPEC Secretariat said on Wednesday in Vienna.
OPEC said the price of its basket, which includes 14 varieties of crude, decreased by 2.8 percent on Tuesday, compared with the closing price of the previous session.
The January delivery of Brent crude opened at $47.83 per barrel at the start of Wednesday’s trading on the futures market, a 0.64 percent decrease since the previous session’s close.
