Of course he does. They're both liars and opportunists who care more about their own ambitions than their country. Boris was never a committed Brexiter, he chose to support Leave in the hope it would get him elected PM and he had a good chance until Gove stabbed him in the back.

He lied that Britain would be able to stay in the single market after Brexit, and while he was a journalist he wrote all those fake stories about the EU to whip up outrage. More recently he lied about the Scripals' poisoning and embarrassed Britain (again).

It's no surprise that he'd love to follow Trump's method of bullying everyone into giving him exactly what he wants, but it ain't gonna work.

“covertly recorded”....no such thing nowadays, all politicians are savvy enough to assume that any speech they give at a private function or otherwise is probably being recorded...
Everything he said was obviously intentional and for public consumption...
Even the Trump remark...trying to make amends for his past sarcasm...

    Poor DT.

Again on the wrong side of history.

DT, why do you hate Britain and British sovereignty so much?

    Where were you born?

    Manchester?

Where were your parents actually born?

    Your grandparents?

Has Britain failed you so terribly?

Are you discriminated as a member of a particular class?

If you were a fully integrated, prosperous member of that society your lack of commitment to the nation would be illogical.

Speaking of being on the wrong side of history, in 2015 Boris said Trump “betrays a stupefying ignorance that makes him unfit to be US President.”

He went on to say “I would invite him to come and see the whole of London and take him round the city, except I wouldn’t want to expose any Londoners to any unnecessary risk of meeting Donald Trump.”

Voice is right, Boris is an opportunist and would have expected his words to be leaked. Guess he thinks sucking up is to his advantage now.

Chronic, what a surprise that wanting to make your country a better place is beyond your comprehension. But since you elected the American version of Chavez president, tell me: why do you hate America?

    DT, practicing avoidance again.

    You?

    Your parents?

    Your grand parents?

    No one born in Britain?

Why are you so ashamed of your family's heritage?

I'm not. You're such a weird little racist, believing people can only care about things that affect them personally. Even if I didn't want Britain to be a better place for everyone, I still have family and friends who can be harmed by these issues.

This is what a much better American than you had to say about it:

“My country, right or wrong; if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right.”

    DT, where were you born?

    Your parents?

    Your grandparents?

No one has inquired as to your race.

Your attempt at a straw man fails.

This is about you and your wish for Britain to forego its sovereignty.

My do you loathe the British?

D'you think if a cat is born in an oven it must be a biscuit?

This is not about me, it's about Boris Johnson and Trump. I'm not gonna answer questions from a dumb and dishonest foreigner who elected a Russian stooge as president and admitted he wants to burn down his own country. If you can't understand the idea of having principles, that's not my problem.

PS. I've seen you say racist shit in the past, so don't bother denying it this time. Why else would you care where my grandparents were born?

    Why?

    You are the slow one.

Your roots can't run very deep in British soil or toil or you would be more vested in the survival of Britain as an independent nation.

Does your heritage lie in a former colony?

Why are you so ashamed of who you truly are?

A peculiar view for someone living in one of our former colonies. Ninety-nine percent of the US population has roots in other soil; if your idea of patriotism were correct, your country would not exist.

Where does your heritage lie, Chronic? Do you lack loyalty to the US because your ancestors came from elsewhere? I think you must, or you wouldn't accuse others of it.

DT, your cross must be a heavy one to bear - in the UK but not of it.

Have you ever considered trying to integrate into British society and be an actual participant as opposed to mere outsider - a temporal interloper.

I hope someday that you find a country - a people - a land that you love and can support as a nation.

Lol. Where are your ancestors from, Chronic? Where were you born, where were your parents born, where were your grandparents born? Are you ashamed of being an interloper in America?

It's sad. Americans used to boast of their democratic government and open society where everyone had an opportunity to succeed, and now pissants like you want to destroy everything your ancestors worked so hard to build.
