The European horse-meat scare has reached the Falkland Islands but the government has stated that local retailers have voluntarily removed potentially affected products from their shelves and “there is nothing to suggest a safety risk to consumers who may have eaten affected products”. Funnier by the nanosecond.

Gonna have some 100% pure beef Lasagna, made in Argentina. Thank God we don't have to worry about such 4th world nonsense here. Then you wonder why we wan't nothing to do with Europe or the Falklanders.

I have eaten Argentinian beef, actually in Argentina as it happens but many years ago, at the time I did not think there could be anything wrong with it. ( I was young then )But nowadays I would not eat any, as your Government do not have any records and the cattle have no passports. Who knows what you are eating.

    Whatever floats your boat.

Argentines enjoy 100% grass-fed madcowless beef, Europeans enjoy madcow ridden, not 100% beef with horse, Americans enjoy beef mixed with pink slime and traces of Aussie kangoroo...

    To each his own.

OMG at this rate that beef meat that was horse meat through way of a horney donkey may end up being croc meat passing as kangoroo meat, which in fact was not croc meat but just cane toad meat... mixed with camel when it was in transit through the middle east.

That would be the same donkeys you lot ran away from then. Never mind, they were pretty nasty donkeys, with great big sharp teeth that could have caused you nasty liddle bites. Nothing cowardly about running away from such fierce creatures. It takes brave men to stand up to a vicious animal, something you have a chronic shortage of. That why you want the rest of UNSAR to do your scrapping for you? They do not suffer from donkey phobia. Wonder what phobia they would call that? fear of donkeys?

A precaution versus mis-labelled products I would imagine.

How's the rationing and super market advertising ban going?

“The Undersecretary for Consumer Defence, María Lucila Pimpi, defended the idea that some supermarkets might implement restrictions on the number of items that can be purchased, to avoid speculation. “I don’t think it would be bad if supermarkets placed a reasonable limit to the purchase of products,” she said on a radio interview. Pimpi also denied rumors that Domestic Trade Secretary Guillermo Moreno had banned supermarkets from advertising special deals.”

I try to limit the amount of red-meat I consume. However, I do regularly eat british beef and I have to say, it's pretty good. Mainly environmental reason (plenty of rain and grass) and a good choice of breeding.

Even in the USA they typically will use Angus beef, even over the Kobe varieties, as their meat is too buttery to be eaten as a steak.

    More beef nonsense.
Here local production can't meet beef consumption so we have to import. We have beef from USA, Argieland, Paraguay, Brazil and Australia in the supermarkets. There is good and bad from all these countries. A lot of Argie beef can be mediocre but if you buy branded beef like “Las Lilas” it is excellent.

Back on topic. What is all the fuss about horse meat. I love a bit of Charqui.

Not surprising with their government of crooks and drugged “food”. Even argie fruit and vegetables are sprayed with “products” that can kill those living nearby. Quite recently, an argie “minister” was recommending that poor children should be fed on pigeons. Shows how “safe the rest of the garbage is.....NOT!

    @48

Good to know you are confirming what I said. 95% of your countrymen can't afford good steak either. Average American making 39.000 take 33% in taxes leaves 26.000, gotta pay rent/mortgage since no american has their home paid off, lets say 1500 per month that leaves 8.000, gotta pay for healthcare probably 4000 a year, that leaves 4000 f0r utilities 2000 gone there leaving 2000 for food, clothes, etc... which means work TWO jobs.

Get extra 20.000 a year + 2000 left over from the other job, but gotta pay for the car since there is no public transport in the USA, lets say 500 with insurance that's 6000 a year leaves you 16.000. Probably not saving anything in a private retirement but if you do let's say 2000 a year leaves 14.000. Food for one probably takes 500 a month just simple stuff that's 6.000 leaves you 8.000, gotta buy clothes and repairs that's probably half of that leaves you 4.000.

After ALL that ... 4.000 LEISURE dollars for the average yank. And you tell me they will spend 700 for steak!?? hahahah... no wonder you are such an obese nation, you can't afford proper food, no money you barely scrape by a living... so all you can do is KFC and Burger King.

That's your modern America, just like Brazil except with no future ahead. hahahahaha.

I am an Argentine living in London and I have been since my family moved here in the 80s to escape political persecution.

I am a UK tax payer and I am in favour of the UK underwriting loans to my home country. The British subject Argentina to economic colonisation in the 19th and 20th centuries and they have stolen the Malvinas from us. They must pay for their piracy.

I would like to return to my country one day when the situation improves and this can only be done with help from outside.

Give back what you have taken, ex-empire ahahahahah!

@61 LOL! He wants to return when the situation improves? It will never improve enough for Marcos to enjoy the same standard of living he is enjoying now in the UK.

Note to Marcos: The 'piracy' part makes you look like a nutter. You have lived in London long enough to know that by now.

“The USA doesn't want Argentinians in our country that is why most of them are denied”

Fine you should put an Ad or sign in the embassies in Argentina saying “Argies don’t waste your time you are not welcome in US we don’t want you here”

We Germans like Argies so they are more than welcome in Germany and I guess in the rest of Europe.

So argies you know now that you are not welcome in US so why waste your time and money in a country that don’t like you?

Germany will love to provide you one of the most exciting travel experiences in the world.
Have you ever thought where those “facturas” that you eat every morning come from?

And those delighted “fiambres”? Would you like to visit our factories where most of finest products in the world are made?

You will feel at home and we are really good to make big parties

As you know Europe at the moment is not in a good shape so many countries will love to have you as tourist and in fact some will suck your foot toe for a good tip.

Even the retarded British Islands will be a better option than f@king US at least you will be doing something good by helping British families to keep a job in troubling Britain.

Dany, I think making the Rgs line up for a couple hours in the sun, on the sidewalk in front of our embassy to beg for a visa gives them enough of an impression that we don't want them here.
Far too many overstay their tourist visa and become waiters, bartenders, strippers, hookers in Miami and NYC.
We have a little Buenos Aires in a Miami suburbs, a gross ghetto of 250K living there most of them illegal.
    No Thank You.

Because British are very lazy people even to cook their own food...
