Gibraltar “joke time over” Spanish minister tells Foreign Secretary Hague
“This joke is over” Jose Garcia-Margallo, Spanish Foreign Minister told his British counterpart William Hague this week regarding the Gibraltar sovereignty dispute.
In an interview with Antenna 3 this week Garcia-Margallo said that “now that I am Foreign Minister I have not forgotten the claim over Gibraltar. We are going to change the policy towards Gibraltar.”
The remarks are likely to be discussed by Chief Minister Fabian Picardo when he meets in London for the first time since the General election with Europe Minister David Lidington.
“Up to 2002 there was the tripartite forum where UK, Spain and Gibraltar sat. And Gibraltar tried to talk about sovereignty, about jurisdiction, about things that are the preserve of the main countries. I told the minister (Hague) that on sovereignty and jurisdiction the interlocutors are UK and Spain” Garcia-Margallo said in the interview.
The Spanish minister said that he had added that if they were going to talk about co-operation “which seems good to me as it favours both sides of the fence (reja) then Spain, UK, the Junta de Andalucía and Gibraltar will be present. That should be the symmetry.”
But he added that “we will progress on that as we progress on sovereignty matters. We are not going to be talking permanently of co-operation if we do not advance on the fundamental issue of sovereignty”.

PS:
Quick Mr. Lorton... Write a Timeline to prove that those Dagos are just some Turnips and that the British Empire was the best ever thing that has happened to the World :-)
@2 Coffee?
Correct again,
Boy it didn’t take the hate mongers to jump did it, anything that spells anti British, and the kangaroos are at it,
The only point I would concede, are the rumours
Of Tony sell out Blair, and the fact we have a weak government that sadly does not have the intellect to tell Argentina and Spain to sod of or else,
You all heard Obama yesterday, what he said about Americas enemies or those that seek harm to America,
[I don’t like the bloke] but at least he has the guts to speak with power, rather than a feather.
But Spain will get nowhere, [why] because she has already excepted the status quoi,
And Europeans will not allow this to happen, so you argie anti British bloggers are celebrating a century to soon, but still as losers you will claim it as another false victory,
The most that will happen, is the gates will be closed, again,
But you guys would not remember that ,
So brag on children, plays till your hearts content,
After all, these British turnips, have something you don’t have
And Never will have , the British Falklands
I make that British turnips 2 and argie false victories 1,
You lose again, better luck next time . lol
.
Everybody is claiming something stolen by the Brits:
Argentina claims Malvinas, Spain claims Gibraltar, Greece claims the Elgin Marbles, India claims the Koh i Noor diamond and so on.
Correct again,
Boy it didn’t take the hate mongers to jump did it, anything that spells anti British, and the kangaroos are at it,
AHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHHHAHHA!
Only a few millions killed here and there, and a few millions more deprived from their freedom, and the opium trade,Ireland,Wales.....etc..
but yes..if you really overlook these assasinations and injustices and unfairnes.....We can say that...
My God...what a sick guy.....
I agree!!
Dago
Originally it wasn't a bad word.
The English word for the Spanish in the 16th century.
lt came from Diego which seemed to be common Spanish name to us.
The Spaniards were also called Dons, because nearly every one seemed to be Don this or Don that.
Now however dago means mediterranean peoples, including ltalians, Greeks etc & is not very nice. l try not to use it, myself.
Like limeyin the US.
Originally a British sailor, because limes were part of their diet.
To get vitamin C & keep scurvy away. We also used to call our sailors, limeys
Now a not very nice word that the Americans use for us.
lf they could only hear what we call them :-)))
Thank you !
the child utters
Because the spanish and all there Turnip descendants are clearly the people to be lecturing us on such things.
I assume so, in order to maintain consistency, otherwise the joke time is not going to stop, but become a running gag...
the child utters
the chimp squeaks...
On which map?
I can clearly see them as spanish exclaves on african soil (like Gibraltar being a british exclave on european soil),
Spain is on the other side of the Mediterranean Sea... you want Gibraltar back, then start giving back Ceuta and Melilla to Morroco, they claim rights on it too ;)
