    Argentine and China reaffirm close trade and political links

    Argentine President Cristina Fernández received on Wednesday China’s Foreign Ministry Wang Yi and signed several trade agreements, including aerospace infrastructure at the Government House, Buenos Aires City. During the meeting, the president was accompanied by Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich, Economy Minister Axel Kicillof, Federal Planning Minister Carlos Julio De Vido and Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman, with whom Wang Yi had a previous meeting.

    China calls for restraint in Syria and says military intervention can only worsen the crisis

    ”A political resolution has, from the very beginning, been the only way out for the Syrian issue”, said Wang

    China's foreign minister urged restraint in the growing tensions over Syria, saying any military intervention in the crisis would only worsen turmoil in the Middle East. China all along has tried to maintain a neutral position on the issue, not accompanying the West’s intentions of imposing sanctions to Syria but calling on Damascus to begin talking with the rebels.

    China fears a US/EU free trade area could become protectionist; looks to Latinamerica

    China has raised concerns about European Union plans to negotiate an ambitious free trade deal with the United States, fearing it is a protectionist move and at the same time Beijing new administration is doubling efforts towards Latinamerica and Africa.
