Argentina supports Chile's proposal to jointly organize the 2010 football World Cup, confirmed Argentine president De la Rúa after meeting Chilean president Ricardo Lagos in Santiago.
During a brief one day visit to Santiago for an Interamerican Press Association Conference, Mr. De la Rúa however underlined that the political will is not enough, "it's up to both football organizations to decide".
Chile has even considered the issue in Congress, but has admitted it does not have the sufficient stadiums and therefore the joint proposal with Argentina.
"It would be a wonderful example of practical and physical integration; we're willing to do everything that is necessary", remarked Mr. De la Rúa.
