Chargeurs' representatives in Uruguay are to visit the Falkland Islands this weekend to meet woolgrowers. It is understood they are to discuss marketing initiatives.
The visit follows controversial plans by the Falkland Rural business Association, for farmers, whose livelihoods depend on the 2.000-ton annual clip, to market wool directly instead of sending it all to Bradford through a Scotland-based agent and Bradford broker.
It is thought most growers will reject the plans when votes are taken later this month.
