The "Paradanta Primero" which is a Spanish flagged stern trawler is alongside FIPASS today. This vessel will be re-flagged as a Falkland Island ship. The re-flagging is a result of an association between South Atlantic Marine Services (S.A.M.S) and their Spanish fishing partners, Pesqueradas De Bon. Southern Harvest which is a 50 50 joint venture with Pesqueradas have invested all the retained profits into the vessel while S.A.M.S and Pesqueradas have funded the remaining shareholding. This has enabled the joint venture Company, South Star Fisheries to purchase the vessel and re-flag it in the Falkland Islands. They hope that over the next few years it will prove profitable for those involved and that we will be given the opportunity to fish for Loligo in the near future.
