Contrary to what was reported in the Argentine press a few days ago, Lady Thatcher will not be travelling to the Falklands next November when hundreds of British war veterans are expected to visit the Islands.
Mrs. Thatcher office confirmed that the former Prime Minister will only be going to the ceremony to see the veterans off from Britain, but she will not make the journey herself.
Actually Mrs. Thatcher was invited by the Falklands government to participate in the twentieth anniversary commemorations of the 1982 conflict last June, but declined because of health reasons.
The Argentine press carried the story that The Independent published on Sunday September 22nd saying that Margaret Thatcher will be going to the Falklands with the veterans' pilgrimage next November.
The Duke of York, a Falklands veteran will be present in the Islands next November.
