Oil 3D seismic surveying in Falkland basin

The seismic vessel GeoPacific is expected this Saturday in Stanley for a crew exchange. The vessel has been carrying out a 3D survey in the North Falkland basin for the oil company Desire Petroleum plc.

She will also be bunkering and storing during the port call, with ship servicing, piloting and other arrangements being carried out by Byron Marine.

An escort vessel, the Thor Supporter, will also be arriving on Saturday and will depart with the GeoPacific.

Government officials will be taking the chance to tour of the boat before she heads back out to continue surveying. Work is expected to end around mid March.
