Mayors and governors of Chilean and Argentine Patagonia will be meeting next April 16 in Punta Arenas for the launching of the Patagonia Sur, a joint tourist trade mark promotion of the region.
Besides tourism, other issues in the agenda include energy, phito and animal health, customs, migration and border crossing.
The meeting is also expected to address aspects of the coming meeting in Punta Arenas of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation area tourism ministers scheduled for next October.
"An excellent opportunity to promote Patagonia in the Asia-Pacific basin", said a spokesperson from Mayor Jaime Jelincic.
Uruguayan Tourism and Sport Juan Bordaberry has also been invited to the meeting.
An observer from the Interamerican Development Bank will also be present during the debates.
