Brazil's foreign trade keeps breaking records. Last May trade surplus reached 3,118 billion US dollars, the highest ever for a month with exports totaling 7,927 billion US dollars and imports 4, 823 billion US dollars.
May figures are 24,6% and 25,1% above May 2003.
The sum of May's exports and imports totals 12,764 billion US dollars the second highest behind March 2004 with 13,252 billion US dollars.
With May figures available, during the five first months of 2004, Brazil exported 33,979 billion US dollars and imported 22,736 billion US dollars, with an all time record of 11,243 billion US dollars for the period.
