Malvinas war veterans camping in Buenos Aires Plaza de Mayo for a hundred days attempted this Wednesday to storm Government House but doors were closed just on time.

Meantime in Congress the Chamber of Deputies approved a unanimous declaration reaffirming Argentina's rights over the Islands and "deploring" the attitude of Chilean and Uruguayan diplomats who participated in London in the celebration of an "anniversary of the British military victory in Malvinas in 1982".

The celebration was organized by the Islands' (kelpers) government to commemorate June 14th "Liberation Day" and the Uruguayan consul Carlos Bentacour and the Chilean Ambassador Mariano Fernández were present.

However Federico Storani, one of the sponsors of the resolution also criticized Foreign Affairs Minister Rafael Bielsa "because the incident occurred two months ago and we haven't received a report on the matter".

In Government House, Interior Minister Anibal Fernandez described the rampage attempt as "disproportionate" arguing that "for the first time in 22 years of neglect we're organizing an integral veterans' policy".

"After a hundred days of camping without any reply" veterans said they were demanding "economic and moral compensations plus medical services and pensions".

Malvinas war veterans are now insisting in talking with President Nestor Kirchner and threatened with a hunger strike if an interview is not arranged.

"In 15 days we've done a census of 10,200 veterans and answered 4,200 phone calls", said Mr. Fernandez adding that "it's hard to understand what they were doing in the entrance of Government House".

Mr. Fernández warned that the government will not receive anybody "under pressure" and stated that the "assessment of Malvinas policy can't be done from a tent". "I receive a delegation of veterans every Wednesday morning at 09:00 so it's hard to understand what is happening".

The surprise run of the veterans on the gates of Government House screaming and with fire crackers surprised Casa Rosada security since at first they were taken for some dissident group of the controversial picketers who daily march through the streets of Buenos Aires.
