Uruguay expects 70,000 cruise visitors.

Next November 3 with the arrival in the Atlantic resort of Punta del Este of “Saga Pearl” which the following day will call in Montevideo, the cruise season officially begins in Uruguay.

According to Montevideo tourist agencies this season 25 cruise vessels will be making 80 calls in Uruguay, totalling over 70,000 visitors, a considerable increase over the previous season with 20 vessels and 61 calls.

Some of the cruise vessels scheduled for this November-March season includes "Mona Lisa", "Deutschland", "Infinity", "Le Diamant" and "Queen Elizabeth II" on November 26.

"Saga Pearl", originally the "Minerva", later "Explorer II" will be arriving with 350 visitors and will be followed by "Insignia".

"Astor" that will be calling Montevideo April 2, will signal the end of the 2004/05 cruise season in Uruguay.
