Sky Airlines is ready to land in Punta Arenas Wednesday after having completed all procedures and established a sales counter in the city.

"We're coming to stay, and we have even managed to obtain certain concessions regarding rates regulations and fines", said Mr. Sergio Briceño, the airline's Commercial Manager.

The first regular flight of Sky Airlines is scheduled to arrive Wednesday with a delegation of personalities including the company's owner Jürguen Paulmann "who will be staying in Punta Arenas until Thursday".

Sky Airlines will make a round flight Santiago/Punta Arenas daily with a stop in Puerto Montt. On Sunday's the aircraft will stop in Concepción.

"We have three counters for general public and one for travel agencies and we're overworked with people queuing to purchase tickets until 21:00 hours admitted Mr. Briceño.

Since the local office in Punta Arenas still does not have an on line booking system with travel agencies, "bookings can be slow, because we want to avoid over selling", added Mr. Briceño.

"Our flights occupancy rate is above 80%" admitted Mr. Briceño.

Sky Airlines is the third carrier with regular flights to Punta Arenas. The other two are Lan Chile, which had been repeatedly accused of "monopolistic attitudes" and Aerolíneas del Sur which also began operating this month.
