The New York Times praised the Argentine economic recovery of the last three years in spite of the fact that when the December 2001 crisis broke out, “an unprecedented social and economic collapse was forecasted”.

In an article from Buenos Aires, Latinamerica analyst Larry Rother writes that "three years after the declaration of the default, an apocalypse is yet to arrive".

"On the contrary the economy for the last two years running has grown 8%, exports have increased, currency is stable and investments are gradually returning to the country".

Mr. Rother further on underlines that the "recovery of Argentina is undeniable and has been achieved ignoring and partly challenging overseas recommendations".
