Lan Argentina, affiliate of Lan Chile will begin operations next June 8 with regular flights between Buenos Aires and Cordoba and Mendoza, reported the company Wednesday in Buenos Aires.

The Cordoba route will be covered with three daily flights and Mendoza with two, while next June 17 Lan Argentina begins operations in Bariloche, one of the main Patagonia attractions.

Lan Argentina estimates that by next July it will have a fleet of six Boeing 737/200, which will enable it to also fly to Neuquen in the south and to the northern city of Puerto Iguazú next to the world known waterfalls.

Lan's subsidiary was created last March and has contracted so far 650 staff from the former airlines Lapa and Dinar which had gone bankrupt. Another 150 personnel was absorbed from Aerovip a small domestic carrier that ceases operations last October.

Lan Argentina besides seven more domestic destinations has plans to fly to Santiago de Chile, Montevideo, Madrid and Miami.
