The Rolling Stones 2006 Latinamerican tour seems likely to include, Montevideo, Uruguay if organizers in Buenos Aires don't manage to contain the fiscal costs of several scheduled concerts.

Apparently Uruguayan officials have promised full support to the Mick Jagger group if it finally opts for Uruguay instead of Argentina and two concerts are tentatively being programmed in Montevideo and possibly Punta del Este next summer.

Uruguay's main open theatre the Centenario stadium can hold 60,000 seated people.

The Rolling Stones are planning to begin their world tour in United States next August and will continue in Latinamerica in 2006, playing in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina/Uruguay and Puerto Rico.

The Rolling Stones visited Argentina and Brazil in 1995.

"We have fantastic fanatics in Argentina, strong and masculine, noisy and lovers of football; we'll be very happy to be back in Argentina", said Mick Jagger, 61, in a recent interview announcing the coming tour.

Costs for playing in Buenos Aires include 21% VAT, 12% entertainment tax and an additional 3% for the city's government.
